Today may be your favorite day of the year, or your least. It may be your favorite holiday, or your least. But I like to look at it as a day that I get to give the people I love a little bit more than usual, even if it’s just a random text in the middle of the day to say “I love you.”
Here is a card I sent to my daughter and her husband this year.
I was itching to use the new Something Lacy background stamp on the new chalkboard paper with the new Rose Coral chalk ink, so I stamped on the paper to use it as my own Designer paper. It’s the trim that runs along the left edge of the card, and then I used the new Confetti Hearts border punch with it to cut out my hearts.
I really love this chalkboard ink. I didn’t have any pink baker’s twine, so I cut a piece of whisper white thick baker’s twine, unraveled it to get a thinner strand, and just ran it across the ink pad. Voilà, instant colored twine in just the right shade!
I had so many of those little black hearts dusted across my work surface, and they’re so tiny, (and I’m a rather messy crafter), that I’m still finding them everywhere. Oh, and my carpet is black , so I’m sure I missed a few there, as well!
Have a lovely Valentine’s Day today, no matter where you are or whom you are with. You can never express your love too often for the people in your life who matter to you most. Oh, and a little chocolate never hurts, either!
