Stippled Blossoms Save the (Birth)Day!

I’m So Glad Stippled Blossoms Didn’t Get Retired!

Or I would have been lost without any ideas for the two July birthdays I had this month. I was feeling a bit uninspired, so I went on over to Pinterest and took a look through all the cards that I had pinned under “Birthdays.” The cover photo for my Board features a card made with Stippled Blossoms and Memorable Moments. I have always wanted to make this card, so I grabbed my supplies and here is what I came up with:

My dear former neighbor, about whom I wrote back on July 4th here, turned ninety-three on July 17th. He has always loved the color red, so I knew that I had to use that in my color palette. I stamped the Stippled Blossoms set onto Whisper White card stock and then fussy cut around the images. I used dimensionals to pop them up around the circle, as well as to pop up the numbers.

My daughter has the same birthday, but she loves the color purple, so I decided to use the new Blackberry Bliss In Color for hers. I also embossed the Whisper White before I cut it down for the card. I again used my paper snips to fussy cut the numbers.

Now, a funny thing happened after I finished making these cards. I had just bought the Starburst framelits, and it was the first time I used them. The first circle I cut out was too big for my purposes, so I set it aside and pulled out the next smaller one. I made my cards and everything was good to go; that is, until I went to clean up my mess and realized I couldn’t find one of the framelits (the first one that wasn’t the right size). Let me tell you, I pulled my craft room apart three times, going through EVERYTHING I had used in my crafting. And I was going out of town the next day, so I wanted to have a clean room. Needless to say, I didn’t find it. I had my daughter crawling around on the floor looking (black carpet, of course) and I also warned hubby that it was missing. So off I went on my trip.

When I arrived back home, there was my missing framelit, safe and sound, sitting on my craft table. My husband had found it in the laundry when he was sorting clothes. Sigh. I think it best to just leave the story there. Yeah, those marbles were lost a long time ago!
