Stampin Up Retired Stamp Sets

Remember all those Stampin Up retired stamp sets you own?

You know, the ones that have been sitting in your craft area, stuck in a bin, buried in a box, out in the garage, lost in the basement, eaten by the dog, or under your kids’ bed…yeah, me neither. But the other day I needed a card for a bridal shower, and I wanted to use something I hadn’t stamped with in a while, so I pulled out my book of stamps (not the kind you mail, but I keep a stamped copy of every stamp I own so I can find what I want or at least browse through them for inspiration, not to mention those “Gee, I can’t remember if I own that set or not” moments) and settled on Baskets of Happiness from 1996.

I have been wanting to use my blender pens and my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig, so that’s what I did. If you haven’t used the, you know, Stamp-A-Ma-Jig before, it really is an incredible accessory for lining up stamps evenly. Blender pens are also fun to use, because using them is just like coloring – only you dip the tip of the pen into the top of your ink pad. (Don’t worry, I’ll show you how to do that in another post).

The card stock color is Coastal Cabana, one of the In Colors for 2013-2015.  I stamped the basket image and then fussy cut it, and then I adhered it directly to the card. I colored in the sentiment , cut it with my trimmer, and used Stampin’ Dimensionals to stick it on the card. And a card isn’t a card without a little bling, hence the rhinestones.
