A Shutter Card for Thanksgiving

I love using an old technique for a new card!

I had made a shutter card a long time ago and shared it on an older post. (You can click here to see it). Much older, haha! So I used products from the Stampin’ Up! holiday catalog and remade the original card with all new colors and stamps. I used three Stampin’ Up! sets: Mingle All the Way, Good Greetings, and a teeny sentiment from the Banner Banter set for inside the circle.

So here is my finished project. I had to dig into my archives to locate just what I wanted. This technique, called Closed Blinds, was one that I saw on a post by a crafter named Lynn Mercurio, back in 2008.

I decided to emboss the sentiments because I was afraid they might get washed out by the busyness of the other colors. This card will fit in a standard A2 medium envelope, and since there is no “inside” to it, you can write a longer message right on the back.
