Do you have an old faithful? Maybe more than one?
For this project I pulled out an old standby, and one of my personal faves, Pleasant Poppies. What a classic background stamp! For the card below I used just a part of the whole stamp by only inking the flower stems that I wanted to use; because the stems aren’t as close together it’s much easier to ink up just the portion of the image that you want to use. I paired it with a piece of the Back to Black Designer Series Paper. I was going for something clean and crisp but elegant, and I think I’ve achieved that with this sympathy card. The sentiment is from the 2014-15 Ronald McDonald House Charities stamp, Flamingo Lingo.
Sometimes it’s nice to go back through the stamps that we’ve collected over the years and revisit our old faithfuls. Of course, if you’re like me, that could take awhile! But seriously, look through your stash and pull out one of your old faithfuls and put it to good use. It’ll be like sitting down for a coffee with an old friend!
Until we meet again!
Love this card! Pleasant Poppies will definitely stay in my personal collection.
Did you ink the stamp with a stamp pad or a Stampin’ Write Marker?
Candy, I used the ink pad – I always lay my stamps down flat on my table and then dab the ink pad over the stamp – and because this stamp has such a good separation between the flower stems it was really easy to do.
Wow! I love this look. Sometimes I forget how beautiful stamps can look in one simple color. What a great idea.
So, so very pretty! I wish I had that stamp set now. Hmmmmmm….
