Happy Birthday to You, and You, and You
May is a busy birthday month around our house – we have birthdays on the 9th, 10th, and 20th. For some reason, most of the birthdays roll through between May and July – my mom’s was May 7th, we have a June 13th, a July 3rd, July 17th, and my in-laws were July 25th and 29th. That’s like, a birthday every other week! Crazy!
My son-in-law likes chocolate cake best, so I thought that for his card this year I would pick a color that would remind him of that. I embossed with white embossing powder and used dark ink for the stamping. Thank goodness for the magnetic platform on the Big Shot – I love how you can set your paper or stamped images down and nothing shifts or moves unexpectedly!
Someone I know loves polka dots, so I thought it would be fun to make a card that incorporated dots and sparkle. I used the same Make a Wish stamp set, but used silver glitter and heat & stick powder instead of embossing powder (didn’t have any silver on hand). I used the 1/2″ and 3/4″ circle punches to create the polka dots out of Silver Glimmer Paper.
