Happy Father’s Day
So I was perusing my stamp collection and realized that I really don’t have that many Father’s Day sentiments. Of course, I didn’t do an exhaustive search, but off the top of my head I could only think of Guy Greetings. I’m sure there are others, but this particular set is very much guy-oriented.
I have used this set before in another post, but not in the same way and without using the same images. I decided to go for a clean and simple look. As I know I’ve mentioned before, Hubs likes his cards that way.
The sentiment inside reads “no one else could fill your shoes.”
I’ve really been enjoying using the thick Very Vanilla card stock, I must admit. It just gives a nice heft to a card. I know it’s hard to tell, but I used a black puffy gel pen to highlight the shoelaces.
Don’t laugh, my original idea was to use a needle and thread and put in more realistic looking laces, but after a couple of attempts I got real and decided I was carrying things a bit too far!
No to mention that fact that these old eyes had a wee bit of trouble finding all the teeny tiny holes to put the needle through. So yeah, I gave up on that idea!
Now before I go I want to share with you the best advice my father ever gave to me:
Don’t tell Mom!
Now get out there and do something creative today, even if it’s Father’s Day!
