For Peeps Sake!

So I’ve been working on making some “watercolor” cards lately, inspired by a class over at BPC (Big Picture Classes). I don’t happen to have any paints in the house, so I’ve been using my ink pads and water to formulate my own.  I kind of like using some minimalist design to showcase the stamp sets I’ve used, and this one is no different. The stamp set is For Peeps Sake, which is “totes adorbs”, as my daughter would say.

I mean, these guys are seriously cute! So I grabbed my ink pads, squished them together so I had a spot of ink on the inside cover, got a little glass of water, and pulled out a paintbrush.

After I colored in the little Easter eggs I went back over them, once they were dry, with some Crystal Effects to help them pop a bit.  When I went to stamp the sentiment on my tag, I inked up the stamp and then went back and removed the tiny Easter eggs under the word “egg-cellent.” I didn’t want them on the tag, so I used a dry paintbrush to wipe off the color.

I decided to fussy cut the chick because I wanted him to stand out but I didn’t want to use any Stampin’ Dimensionals under him. Thank goodness for paper snips – I’m grateful they’re as sharp as they are cause you need them to be when you’re cutting such small pieces of paper!

So here is my card:

For Peeps Sake Stampin Up Easter

Happy Easter, happy Spring!
