Dragonfly Dreams or Oh, Bee-Have!

When I first saw this new Dragonfly Dreams bundle in the Spring Occasions catalog, I thought, “not impressed.” But then, as usually happens, I began seeing projects all over the place made with this set and sort of, kind of, fell a little bit in love with it! In particular the little bee. My Kate is all about bees, and she was thrilled when she saw the card I made:

Dragonfly Dreams Bee-Have! the Jurassic Crafter CraftCarnivore #stampinup #dragondlydreams

A dragonfly, a dream, and a bee (no, they did not walk into a bar)

I tried a masking technique for this project: First I took some paper strips and made a square on the front of the card so I could stamp over the edges of the square.  I stamped the bee first, and then made a mask by cutting around the bee thinlit, shown here:

Once I had my little guy covered up, I took a sponge dauber and my crushed curry ink pad and just kind of squished it all over the square I had made by masking off the paper, stamping off in between so I had a range of shades. Once I was done I matted the card front with Basic Black. I then attached it to a regular 4¼″ x 5½″ card base in Daffodil Delight.

I sent this off as a thank you card to a good friend who always spoils me at Christmas time. We have been friends forever and have never learned how to “bee-have.” Obviously, the best kind of friend to have!

Hope you enjoyed the buzz. 🙂  Amy
