No, I didn’t say “close the blinds.”
I’m working on a tutorial for the Closed Blinds technique, which I also call a window shutter card or just plain shutter card, but I just wanted to show you another example used in a little different way. I used this technique a couple of times previously (click here for the most recent post or here for the initial one). In the sample below I used the same Closed Blinds technique, but I also cut out an oval in the middle to make it seem more like looking out a window. Very simple, yet very effective, I think. I stamped a piece of Baked Brown Sugar card stock using Baked Brown Sugar ink with the Hardwood stamp. I then cut the piece of paper into strips and adhered them to the inside of my Lost Lagoon rectangle. I popped that up with Dimensionals over a piece of All Is Calm Designer Series paper that was adhered to a white card base. I used the White Christmas stamp set for the trees. I really love that set! And I used a gold marker to fill in the slight stripes on the tree on the right.
Needless to say, this project was made using only Stampin’ Up! products, but you could use any paper and any stamp and still get the same stunning results.
