Here’s One For the Gals! A Card for Ladies

Last week for the Pals’ Blog Hop I featured a card for the gentlemen (click here). Today I’m going to take that idea and turn it into a card for ladies! I had so much fun making the first one and thought I would use the same design but give it a feminine twist. I had so many nice comments about the last card, and got a great tip I’m passing on to you all. One of the comments on Pinterest suggested using the insert as a gift card holder. Great idea!!!!  I would suggest adding it to the back of the insert, just so it doesn’t show up above the neckline. And the results are in:

I apologize for the poor lighting. It’s been very gloomy here in western PA and I wanted you to see this project right away! I know you can’t tell from the picture, but the string of gold sequins is only attached at the ends, under the collar, so you can swing that necklace round and around! I thought that was a fun touch. And of course, the buttons are on the opposite side of the shirt than the man’s card was, per strict fashion regulations (ha!) from the olden days, as my kids would say. And no pocket on this one, either. Proper ladies’ blouses would never have a pocket! Ah, the conventions of fashion!

For the collar, I cut the edges of the “lapels” on an angle and then lined up the straight edge to use the Scallop Edge Border punch.

Once again I used the Simply Wonderful stamp set from the Sale-a-Bration catalog. As I mentioned in my previous post, there are many things to love about that set (beside the fact that it was FREE)!

I did use one retired product, the Crisp Cantaloupe stretch ruffle trim across the top of the insert. It seemed to me that the insert just needed a little something extra to pop! I love the Calypso Coral color that runs through the Park Lane Designer Series Paper. It gives the otherwise low-key floral pattern a nice boost!

If you’re wanting to make one of these yourself, here are the products I used (minus the trim):

  • Another goodie, Mme! Like the idea of attaching a gift card on the back of the insert. And LOVE the thought of twirling the “necklace”.. Bravo!
