My name is Amy Hoptay. I’m a wife of thirty-eight years (yes, he’s still living, I haven’t killed him yet), a mother to three grown daughters, and a grandmother to one adorable little baby boy. I’m a retired Children’s and Youth Services librarian, and yes, I am a reader!
I adore hand crafts of all kinds, including stamping, sewing, knitting, crochet, memory preservation, and basically anything that guarantees I will ignore dirty laundry, bills, cooking, cleaning, etc. I am a certified Paperologist (i.e., a hoarder of pretty paper), a Stampologist (a hoarder of pretty stamps) and an official Procrastinator.
My crafting journey began in the third grade when our teacher taught the class how to knit. (All girls school). My grandma Sophie taught me how to sew, Grammie taught me how to crochet, and I was hooked. In high school I crocheted hats to sell to other students to make pocket money. ← you see, just by using the phrase “pocket money” proves that I am, in fact, a Jurassic Crafter.
I am an independent demonstrator with Stampin’ Up! This year will mark my 5th anniversary with this wonderful group of people. There is much to love about this company! But I do love ALL kinds of stamps and craft projects, crochet, knitting, counted cross stitch, sewing… In the meantime, the creative process keeps me sane and entertained. (Well, that and the meds). I hope you can find some inspiration in these posts and pictures.
